Pepper Kuzhambu | Milagu Kuzhambu



Pepper Kuzhambu is a tasty dish and it can be prepared with less ingredients in a less time. We all know pepper has many health benefits. Pepper will increase the body heat so this dish is very good in cold weather. Cooking this gravy in Gingelley (Sesame) oil increase the flavor.






Onion                     1 Medium

Garlic                     6-7 cloves

Pepper                  2  + 1/2 tbsp

Tamarind             lemon size

Curry Leaves       Handful

Fenugreek Seeds 1/4 tsp

Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

Sesame Oil           3 tbsp

Mustard Seeds      1/4 tsp

Salt to taste


Soak tamarind in water for 10 minutes and extract the juice. Crush the 2 tbsp whole pepper and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan , add mustard seeds ,fenugreek seeds ,1/2 whole pepper and curry leaves. Once splutter add garlic and saute for 2 -3 minutes.

Now add onion and cook till it translucent. Add tamarind extract ,turmeric powder,salt to taste and allow it to boil.

Once the tamarind raw smell goes, add crushed pepper and let it boil for 5 minutes in a medium flame.

Serve hot with steamed rice.
