Oats Paruppu Adai


Adai is basically a dosa made with rice and dals. Me and husband wants to reduce rice in our regular diet. So i replaced the rice with Oats and it came out very well.No one can identify it is made with oats.



 



Ingredients

Oats                           1 cup

Channa Dal               1/4 cup

Toor Dal                    1/4 cup

Moong Dal               1/4 cup

Red chilli                 2 -3 Nos


To Temper

Onion                     1 medium

Ginger                     1 inch

Fennel seeds           1 tbsp

Curry Leaves          2 -3 Strands


Green Chilli           2Nos

Salt to taste


Method


Wash and Soak channa dal,Toor Dal and moong dal for 2 -3 hours.Drain the water and blend it along with red chilli , half of fennel seeds.Powder the oats in a blender and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan,add fennel seeds,ginger,curry leaves.Once splutter add onion,green chilli and cook for a minute.

In a bowl mix dal mixture , powdered oats and tempered item with required amount of water.

Heat tawa , when is hot take 1 laddle full of batter and spread it in a tawa. Drizzle some oil and cook on the both sides.

Enjoy it along with the coconut chutney or tomato chutney.
