Carrot payasam | Carrot kheer

 To welcome the new Tamil year "Jaya" i made Carrot Payasam. It is Simple and easy to make dessert. This dessert suitable for all festival and party celebration. I'm making this carrot kheer to make my little one eat veggie. He now itself become a picky eater. He will eat anything which is sweet. It is good way to make the kids eat veggie


Carrot chopped                  3 nos

Milk                                    2 cups

Sugar                                 1/2 cup

Cashew                              5 - 6 nos

Raisin                                5 - 6 nos

Cardamom                      2 nos

Ghee                             1 tbsp           

Saffron                         few Strands


Roughly chop and steam the carrot . Once cooled make a puree in a blender. Powdered the sugar along with the Cardomom and keep aside.

Heat ghee in a pan, fry the cashews and Raisin and keep aside. In a same pan add carrot puree and cook til raw smell goes.

Boil the milk , add the pureed carrots ,sugar,cardamom and cook till it thickens. 

Add fried cashews and raisins and mix well.

Transfer to serving bowl  garnish it with saffron serve chill or Hot
