Celery Kootu | Celery Dal Curry

Celery has lot of nutritious benefits. We can have as a raw along with ranch or peanut butter. Celery is rich in fiber ,helps to prevent constipation .

Celery chopped                  4 strands

Channa Dal                        1/2 cup

Onion                                 1 No

Tomato                               1 No

Green chilli                        3 -4 Nos

Sambar Powder                1 tbsp

Fennel seeds                     1 tsp

Curry Leaves                   2 Strands

Salt to taste


Wash and soak channa dal in water for 30 minutes. 

Heat oil in a pressure cooker / pan, add fennel seeds and curry leaves. Once splutter add onions , cook till they translucent.

Add green chilli , tomato and some salt. Cook till tomato become mushy.

Now add florets ,channa dal ,Sambar powder and required amount of salt and mix well. Close the lid and pressure cook it for 2-3 hisses.

Once pressure went , garnish with coriander leaves and serve with Rice.
