Lima Beans Curry

This Lima Beans curry is easy  and tasty recipe.when i have a Gestational Diabetics i always search for low Carbohydrate  foods. And i used have some limited types of curry during that time.Lima beans was one of those food. I never tasted or know about Lima beans before.Lima beans has a very good source of cholesterol lowering fiber and helps to prevent blood sugar level rapidly rises after eating.


Lima Beans                  1 1/2 cups

Onion                          1 Medium

Tomato                       2 Nos

Ginger garlic Paste    2 tsp

Chilli Powder            1 1/2 tsp

Coriander Powder    1  tsp

Turmeric Powder     1/4 tsp

Cumin Seeds           1 tsp

Curry Leaves           1 strands

Salt to taste


Heat oil in a pressure pan or cooker , add cumin seeds and curry leaves.Once splutter add ginger garlic paste.Cook til raw smell goes.

Add onion and cook til translucent. Add tomato ,some salt and turmeric powder and cook til tomato become mushy.

Now add lima beans ,give a qucik stir and cook for 2 minutes.

Now add chilli powder , coriander powder,required amount of salt and a cup of water.

Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for one hiss.

Once pressure gone garnish with coriander leaves and serve with Chappathi or Naan.
