Aval Upma | Easy Breakfast Recipes

Aval Upma is easy and healthy Breakfast recipe. It can be prepared in less than 15 minutes with less ingredients. This recipe can be prepared in many ways.

I always prefer instant recipes rather cooking for an long time. For this month Friendship 5 series , need to post Instant Breakfast recipes.

Aval upma


Aval/Poha          1 cup

Onion                  1 Nos

Green chilli         2 Nos

Ginger                 1inch

Channa Dal         1 tsp

Mustard seeds     1 tsp

Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp

Curry Leaves       a spring

Salt to taste


Wash and soak Aval in a warm water. The water is enough to immerse the Aval,add turmeric powder and salt to this and mix well . Keep it until all the water get absorbed by Aval.

Heat oil in a pan , add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Once splutter add channa dal ,Ginger,Green chillies and cook for a minutes.

Now add Onion and saute till translucent and then add Aval and mix well and cook it in low flame.

Cook for a minute and switch off the flame
